Jean has a passion for capturing the character of every face that she paints.She has a genuine love for the people she meets from all walks of life. This is never more evident than in her collection of portraits.

Her extensive traveling has given her an insight into the facial features of people and their culture from all over the world. Her passion for painting old faces is obvious as she eagerly explores the value behind each line... or the twinkle in the eye of a child as she tries to capture their precious innocence.

When viewing this collection please bear in mind each painting has been created minus the use of a preliminary sketch. Jean works directly with colour allowing the subject to appear from a technique that includes use of transparent washes, layers of colour and expressive brushstrokes.
