Trying to capture movement and the excitement or emotion behind it is a wonderful challenge in any medium or art form. In watercolour however the essence of the subject can be captured in so many incredible ways. Technique,exciting use of colour and energetic brushstrokes can bring life to a scene in ways that enhance. It isn't about simply creating the peaceful feeling that can be felt from admiring the quiet calm of a landscape or still life. It's about capturing what is happening in front of you as an artist and trying to take the viewer of the finished painting to that moment in time creating a harmony of minds.

" Taking The Lead" was part of the collection by Jean in the SWA,Society of Women Artists Annual Exhibition, July 2010.
All of Jeans paintings are created minus the use of a preliminary sketch. Working directly with colour and brushstrokes alone each scene comes to life purely by a sense of imagination and artistic talent.
