Artist Profile.

"Meeting Jean is an interesting experience. Red haired with green eyes, she has the proverbial Celtic appearance and an ideal Artist's temperament..Genuinely in love with life, Jean Haines has the ability to find joy in all that she sees around her and radiates positive energy so strongly that you cannot help absorbing some of that yourself "

Interview with Sudra Chandran Panorama Magazine, January 2000

"Your paintings are so mystically ethereal Jean. You seem to touch the soul not only of the subject but also the observer as if one is witnessing an ephemeral event taking place" Exhibition 2005

*******************

Having lived in Asia,Europe and the Middle East opportunities to study under famous watercolour masters have enabled this artist to absorb a variety of styles and techniques which merge with her passion for the medium to create the most amazing of paintings .

Emotion is easily observed in any of Jeans paintings which are created in a loose style incorporating fine brushwork technique that Jean gained whilst living in Asia. Use of colour, knowledge of pigment interaction and a sheer passion for the medium allows Jean the ability to capture the essence of a subject in a way that is both intriguing to the viewer inviting them to enjoy what they don't see as much as what they do in her work.

The enthusiasm Jean generates from her incredible talent and gift for sharing has to be seen to be believed. Those who think they can't paint do under her guidance and soon become as addicted to painting as she is. Those who have simply lost motivation or a connection with their work improve and she is thrilled that many students worldwide are now exhibiting also.

Internationally recognized, professional artists and students from all over the world travel to her workshops. France,Italy ,South Africa, U.S.A and Canada to name but a few. To the art collector early viewing of her exhibitions is advisable as her paintings are now becoming increasingly sought after.

Her journey in professional watercolour started whilst helping illustrate a book for an orphanage in China. She has continually helped many charities ever since including Medecin Sans Frontiers , WWF ( World Wildlife Fund ), Cancer Research, McMillan Fund, and recently Sue Ryder at the Mall Galleries,London.

Jean belongs to Farnham Arts Society, is a Professional Associate of the SAA ( Soctiety for All Artists ) and a regularly featured artist in "Paint" Magazine.

In 2009 she was elected as an Associate Member of the SWA, Society for Women Artists where she was awarded the Anthony J Lester Art Critic Award for her painting "Morning Calls".

Described as an " Embassador of Watercolour " she continues to share her passion worldwide.
